$49,252.96 - $57,827.92 per annum plus superannuation and salary packaging.

Centrecare is a highly successful not-for-profit organisation committed to bringing out the best in people through a range of services including relationship and family counselling, gambling help, accommodation services, migration assistance, victim support and EAP services.

We are seeking an experienced educator to provide high quality assessment, education referral and counselling services for clients and their families within the Family Education and Skills Training program.

Your duties will include:

  • Provide a high quality assessment, education, referral and counselling service for clients and their families in accordance with program requirements and agency policies.
  • Assist the Assistant Manager to provide a coordinating role with particular focus on Community Education and Prevention Programs and Community Liaison within the Region.
  • Develop program content and facilitate groups and education sessions as required that will capacity build target groups.
  • Support the Assistant Manager in developing, planning and evaluating      services.
  • Perform special duties as directed by the Executive Manager, e.g. assist with community development and liaison, represent agency on public committees, give presentations to community groups etc.
  • Other duties as directed by the Executive Manager.

You will need to demonstrate the following selection criteria:

  • National Police Clearance
  • Possession of a ‘C’ class driver’s licence.
  • Possession of a Working with Children Check.
  • Qualifications and/or experience in the Community Services sector in adult education and skills training.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills of high order including ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters with integrity, tact and discretion and experience in dealing with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting assessments that include screening for Family and Domestic Violence.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, facilitating, and evaluating workshops that are client focussed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with families, couples, and individuals.
  • Ability to create and maintain records, prepare reports, documents and correspondence.
  • A willingness to work within the Catholic ethos and Centrecare’s culture including a commitment to professional learning and development.
