Victim Support and Child Witness Support Counsellor - Kalgoorlie

Full-Time, Kalgoorlie

$58,671.89 - $60,827.92  per annum plus an entertainment allowance of $2,000 per annum, salary packaging and superannuation

We are seeking a tertiary qualified Victim Support Counsellor to provide high quality information, assessment, counselling, advocacy and referral service for clients and their families.  Previous experience in Victim Support Services is preferable. For job specific information contact Rosemary Hunt on (08) 9091 1833.

In this position some of your tasks might include:

  • Provide a high quality information, assessment, counselling, advocacy and referral service for clients and their families in accordance with program requirements and agency policies.
  • Be able to respond appropriately to a client in crisis.
  • Arrange referrals to agencies and services for clients who would be better served by such agencies and services.
  • Perform special duties as directed by the Executive Manager, e.g. assist with community development and liaison, represent agency on public committees, give presentations to community groups etc.
  • Be willing to travel within the Goldfields Region.

To be successful in this position you must have:

  • Recognised tertiary level qualifications in a relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in providing counselling to individuals, couples and families.
  • Knowledge of victim support counselling
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A current WA "C" class Driver's License (previously known as “A”)
  • Computer literacy
  • Available to work up to 2 evenings per week
  • Current National Police clearance
