Centrecare's Stretch RAP launched at Piney Lakes Reserve

Centrecare’s Stretch RAP was launched at Piney Lakes Reserve on Wednesday 17th September 2025.

The event was MC’d by Centrecare RAP Committee Co-Chairs, Leanne Strommen (General Manager Community Services) and Patrick Smith (Elder and Youth Mentor).

Whadjuk Noongar Cynthia Garlett began proceedings with a Welcome to Country. Followed by a performance by Bilya Boolandarlung Dancers.

Presentations were delivered by Centrecare’s Director Adjunct Professor Tony Pietropiccolo AM, RAP Elders Dennis Taylor and Marie Pryor and Tara Farmer (Chair, Cultural Working Group) and Dwayne Hayden (Cultural Lead) and Jody Nunn, Chief Executive Officer Reconciliation WA.Nyungar artist Paige Pryor’s artwork titled “Centrecare Story” was also unveiled at the event.

The artwork features on Centrecare’s new shirts, which were worn by Centrecare’s RAP Committee members.

The launch of the Stretch RAP continues Centrecare’s work towards helping achieve reconciliation, while being recognised by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We are proud to be a diverse organisation which celebrates First Nations culture and lived experience and provides support in a culturally responsive and sensitive manner.
