The recent bushfires affecting parts of Australia have been horrific and incredibly traumatic events. It seems as if the whole nation has been affected by this terrible tragedy.
Our hearts have been touched by the scenes of desperation and desolation. The displays of grief and bewilderment in the midst of the chaos have wrenched at our emotions. At Centrecare we have wanted to reach out to provide what we can for those affected. Australia as a whole has been moved to action in an attempt to reduce the sadness and make life just that little bit more comfortable for people. Millions of dollars have been donated and thousands of items have been given to assist with immediate needs.
However, we all know that the physical and emotional impact that has resulted from this awful event will remain with us all in the months and even years ahead. Our work makes us particularly sensitive to the emotional impact that this occurrence has had on individuals and families. We know that many of them will need ongoing assistance in coming to terms with what has happened to them, their families and their communities.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have been affected by this enormous tragedy, especially those in Kalgoorlie, Esperance and surrounding areas. In times such as this, know that as an organisation Centrecare will do whatever it can to support communities needing our help to recover and rebuild. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have been affected by this enormous Australian tragedy.
