Festival of Hearts 2019

13 February 2019

Valentine’s Day reminds us of the significance of our relationships with our loved ones. On Thursday, 14th February Centrecare staff across WA will again be showing love through the annual Festival of Hearts.

Staff will distribute 1,400 roses and cards to passers-by which they may give to someone they love, in the spirit of St Valentine’s Day. This could be a partner, a parent, child, friend or family member.

This event is well received in the community with many people surprised and appreciative of this generous and kind gesture. Centrecare staff enjoy spending time with local people and look forward to this event every year.

“I just wanted to say thank you for the beautiful rose I received in Perth city for Valentine’s Day. It was a very hard day for me personally but that beautiful gesture helped me get through it. By the way, after 13 days it still looks gorgeous! thank you.” Client feedback, 2018

Centrecare’s Festival of Hearts is in its 17th year and is intended as a reminder of the importance of all relationships in our lives. Research has shown healthy family and social relationships have a positive impact on individual psychological and emotional wellbeing, making people and communities stronger.

“Our St Valentine’s Day event is one way in which Centrecare recognises the importance of individuals and families coming together to celebrate healthy relationships. It is an amazing gift to give to people in our communities” said Tony Pietropiccolo AM, Director of Centrecare.

Roses and cards will be distributed at the metropolitan locations of Cannington, Gosnells, Joondalup, Mirrabooka, Midland and Perth and also in regional WA at Bunbury, Esperance and Kalgoorlie.
