It is with great sadness that we learn today of the passing of Stella Young, a truly wonderful advocate for the disabled.

8 December 2014

It is with great sadness that we learn of the loss of Stella Young. Stella was a wonderful activist for people with disabilities, who despite her own disability used comedy, media and public speaking to continually raise awareness within the community around the issues faced by people with disabilities. Stella had recently added her voice to the 'It's time to act on our watch' campaign against domestic violence.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Stella's family and friends, she will be remembered for her selfless and continuous efforts to make the world a better place to live.
